87% of EHS Professionals Have Environmental Responsibilities

Research by J. J. Keller & Associates, Inc. has revealed that 87% of environmental health and safety (EHS) professionals have some environmental responsibilities.
With the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) assessing $1.7 billion in penalties in fiscal year 2024* — the highest in seven years — environmental compliance has taken on even greater importance.
To assist EHS professionals in reducing risk and simplifying environmental compliance, J. J. Keller, a trusted name in safety and regulatory compliance solutions, has launched Environmental Compliance Management, a set of new online tools.
The new environmental tools are part of the J. J. Keller® SAFETY MANAGEMENT SUITE, the company’s integrated solution for EHS professionals, offering written safety plans, audits and inspections, training, incident tracking, chemical management and more.
Tools Address Key Compliance Needs
Combining expert content with powerful program tracking features, Environmental Compliance Management was designed around what EHS professionals told J. J. Keller researchers they needed most. Research indicated the highest value features were:
• A regulatory applicability wizard
• An EHS compliance calendar
• State environmental regulation resources
J. J. Keller’s solution offers those features, plus:
• Environmental incident reporting
• Tank management
• Hazardous waste tracking
• Easy-to-understand compliance resources for 15 EPA topics
• TRI and Tier II reporting support
“EHS professionals told us they want an all-in-one solution for managing their environmental and safety responsibilities,” said Lacie Callen, executive vice president of technology at J. J. Keller. “With the addition of these environmental features, they have the tools they need to stay on top of compliance, reduce risk, and protect their people and the environment with one intuitive, cloud-based solution.”
Because hazardous waste is a common environmental concern for companies of all sizes, J. J. Keller is also offering a free whitepaper, “The 5 Universal Wastes: Keeping Employees and the Environment Safe,” which can be downloaded https://www.jjkellersafety.com/resources/whitepapers/5-universal-wastes?promocode=225949&utm_source=press+release&utm_medium=direct&utm_campaign=225949+SMS+ENV+Press+release&utm_content=Waste+Whitepaper.
