OSHA has issued citations alleging three safety and health violations to Khempco Building Supply Company Ltd., Columbus, Ohio following an inspection of their Columbus construction site and has proposed penalties totaling $132,300. Khempco operates as Arlington Blaine Lumber Company.

According to OSHA Area Director Deborah Zubaty, Columbus, a comprehensive safety and health inspection was initiated at the construction site on September 17, 1999. The company was building three and four story apartment buildings at 850 W. Fifth Ave.

OSHA issued citations to Khempco Building Supply Company alleging two willful and one serious violation for exposing employees to a 20 foot fall hazard.

The alleged willful violations include: lack of a fall protection system, and lack of fall protection training for the employees.

The serious violation is for lack of protection from falling objects.
