Those planning on attending the upcoming AIHce 2011 in Portland, OR and who’d like to help future industrial hygienists get trained may want to start training themselves – for a run.

The American Industrial Hygiene Foundation’s (AIHF) 25th annual “Fun Run” will raise funds for the AIHF Scholarchip Program, and is sponsored by Scott Safety.

Participants can choose either a 5K run or a 2K walk, both starting at 6:30 a.m. in Portland’s historic Waterfront Park. The pre-registration fee is $30. Registering during the conference will cost $40. Students who attend AIHce may register for free.

“The AIHF Fun Run is a great way to get out and support our students”, noted AIHF President, Carter Ficklen, CIH. “The first Fun Run began in Dallas in 1986 and has been a tradition ever since.”

AIHF Scholarships are awarded based on the availability of funds provided through contributions from AIHA members, individuals, corporations, and local sections.
