meetingIf you're in occupational safety, occupational health, management, labor, or just a member of the general public, you can nominate yourself for OSHA's National Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health (NACOSH).

The 12-member NACOSH advises the Secretaries of Labor and Health and Human Services on matters relating to the administration of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 -- the act that brought both OSHA and NACOSH into existence.

OSHA announced in the Federal Register this week that that is accepting nominations for people to serve on NACOSH. Members will serve a two-year term.

Nominations may be submitted electronically at www.regulations.gov, the Federal eRulemaking Portal, or by fax at 202-693-1948. If submitting nominations by mail, hand delivery or messenger service, send three copies to the OSHA Docket Office, Room N-2625, U.S. Department of Labor, 200 Constitution Ave. NW, Washington, D.C. 20210; telephone 202-693-2350. Nominations must be submitted no later than November 28, 2011.

Questions concerning the NACOSH nominations process can be addressed to Deborah Crawford, OSHA Directorate of Evaluation and Analysis, at 202-693-1932.
