ASSE’s Safety 2012

April 2, 2012
When thousands of safety, health and environmental (SH&E) professionals from around the globe land in Denver, CO, for ASSE’s Safety 2012 Conference & Expo, June 3rd – 6th, they will see some major differences from the last time the event was held in the ‘Mile High City’ in 2003.

From a larger convention center, to expanded transit system, and cultural opportunities, Denver has undergone several transformations in the past nine years.

The square footage of Safety 2012 is approximately 75,000, twice the size it was nine years ago with the number of exhibitors increasing by 50 percent since 2003.

The increase in ASSE membership over the last decade has also been met with an increase in the amount of occupational safety issues that have come to the forefront since 2003. The past nine years has seen increased attention given to such subjects as prevention through design, leading and lagging indicators to enhance SH&E, global safety management, violence in the workplace, mining safety, multi-lingual worksite safety, updates in fall protection design, oil and gas safety, aging workforce, and nanotechnology.

With five more subject tracks in its educational sessions than in 2003, Safety 2012 will include sessions addressing all of these recent SH&E issues.
