Wiley X Inc. celebrates the true meaning of Veteran’s Day

November 9, 2012

WileyXOn November 11, our nation will once again pause to observe Veteran’s Day — a uniquely American Holiday set aside to honor and recognize generations who have served in our armed forces. It’s a day filled with parades, picnics and family togetherness, as people across the country enjoy time off of work in observance of this national holiday.

Veteran-owned eyewear manufacturer Wiley X, Inc. wants to remind all Americans how important it is that we don’t lose sight of the true meaning behind this day. “It doesn’t matter when or where they’ve served, or in what capacity, every veteran deserves the appreciation and gratitude of our citizens,” said Myles Freeman, Jr. Co-Owner of Wiley X. “When a man or woman commits to serving in our nation’s armed forces, they sacrifice many things. They sacrifice time away from their families, friends and loved ones and work hard every day in difficult, sometimes dangerous conditions. They serve in this way, so that we can enjoy freedom and safety here at home. These dedicated people deserve our heartfelt gratitude, not just this day of the year, but every day,” added Freeman.

Wiley X’s connection with America’s armed forces is a long-standing one. For more than 25 years, Wiley X has been a leading supplier of protective eyewear and gloves for American soldiers. All Wiley X sunglasses meet stringent ANSI Z87.1-2003 High Velocity and High Mass Impact Safety standards for OSHA-grade protection. In addition, many Wiley X tactical eyewear systems also meet U.S. military ballistic standards for Combat Protective Eyewear (certified to the updated GL-PD 10-12 MCEP Standard, which supersedes the MIL-PRF-31013 Ballistic Standard). This is why many Wiley X tactical sunglasses are available through GSA and carry their own National Stock Numbers.

Wiley X is the only premium sunglass brand with ANSI certification on every pair of glasses it makes. This ensures that every person who wears Wiley X sunglasses receives the highest possible level of vision protection — whether they’re doing their patriotic duty, performing on the job, or enjoying the great outdoors.

To learn more about Wiley X, Inc. and the company’s extensive line of premium protective eyewear for military/law enforcement, occupational safety or enhancing enjoyment of outdoor sports, visit Wiley X, Inc. at 7800 Patterson Pass Road, Livermore, CA 94550 • Telephone: (800) 776-7842 • Or visit online at www.wileyx.com.
