Ergodyne debuts low-profile Weight Lifters Back Support

July 10, 2013

ProFlex 1505Ergodyne has announced today the expansion of their ProFlex® Back Support Series to include the ProFlex® 1505 Low-Profile Weight Lifters Back Support, available August 12, 2013. The new Weight Lifters Back Support's low-profile design allows for superior mobility and its soft foam core is flexible while still providing supplemental support for workers lifting.

"Ergodyne back supports serve three main purposes: first to provide lower back and abdominal support, second to promote proper posture, and third to serve as a reminder to the worker that they are about to lift," said Andy Olson, senior product manager, Ergodyne. "After starting the year off with a complete refresh of our ProFlex® Back Support Series, we're excited to introduce yet another solution in the fight against the number one body part injured in the workplace today - the back."

Easily adjusted with a cam buckle closure system, the Weight Lifters Back Support is light, comfortable, and offers exceptional flexibility for the worker. While lifting, the soft foam provides additional support and the low-profile tapered design offers a snug, adaptable fit. Rubber track webbing keeps the back support from riding up on the worker, especially important for those requiring low-profile, mobile support.

According to the BLS, there were almost 380,000 recordable sprain and strain injuries that resulted in days away from work in 2009. And that's just in the private sector," said Tom Votel, president and CEO, Ergodyne. "Best practice is to employ the hierarchy of controls starting with elimination of the risk or substitution. But when all options have been exhausted and the risk still remains, a back support may be worn as part of the overall process of proper lifting."

Ideal for jobs that require lifting, reaching, twisting, or bending, the new ProFlex® 1505 Low-Profile Weight Lifters Back Support is available August 12, 2013 at all authorized Ergodyne distributors. New training materials addressing proper lifting and how to wear a back support are now available including a White Paper, Poster, and how to videos.
