Construction of Industrial Scientific’s new headquarters facility begins

Groundbreaking took place today for the construction of the company’s new campus located near Pittsburgh

October 1, 2013

Vendor NewsIndustrial Scientific announced today that groundbreaking has taken place for the construction of a new, 200,000-square-foot building to serve as the company’s global headquarters. The facility will be located near Pittsburgh in Robinson Township along Interstate 376.

As the global leader in gas detection, the company has experienced tremendous growth in the last decade. To accommodate this growth and increased number of employees, Industrial Scientific’s operations near Pittsburgh are currently spread across four locations, including its present-day headquarters building at 1001 Oakdale Road in Oakdale, PA.

“The new facility will enable consolidation of all of our operations to one location; from customer service, to manufacturing, to product development, and much more,” said Garth Miller, vice president of customer operations. “This offers many benefits such as increased collaboration and efficiencies. Further, we look forward to providing employees a state-of-the-art facility from which they can continue to serve our customers and deliver innovative, life-saving products and services.”

In addition to Pittsburgh, Industrial Scientific has operations based in in France, Germany, and China, and provides technical services to customers from local service centers around the world.

The project, led by IDC Architects (an affiliate of CH2M HILL) and Mascaro Construction, and supported by CBRE, is expected to be complete in the third quarter of 2015.
