Introducing DRIFIFRE 4.4™, ultra-lightweight dual hazard workwear

September 12, 2014

DRIFIRE 4.4DRIFIRE®, the originator of “high performance FR”, introduces DRIFIRE 4.4™. This ultra-lightweight dual hazard fabric is just 4.4 ounces/yd2, and delivers NFPA 2112 flash fire protection and NFPA 70E 10 cal/cm2, HRC2 protection. Created to exceed expectations in both the electric utility, and oil and gas markets, DRIFIRE 4.4 delivers unmatched, inherent FR protection.

Virtually no other product on the market contains such a high level of protection in an ultra-lightweight fabric. Patented, inherent moisture wicking properties benefit wearers by keeping them cool and dry to reduce the chances of heat related injuries.

DRIFIRE has set the standard in high performance FR—not only in thermal protection, but in garment performance that includes optimal wicking and drying times. The combination of these characteristics is what makes DRIFIRE 4.4 so unique in the market; independent testing confirmed outstanding performance properties. Vertical wicking is up to three times better than competitor fabric. Permanent, instantaneous horizontal wicking is up to 25 times better than competitors. With its lightweight and engineered blends, it dries up to three times faster than other flame resistant fabrics.

This means wearers stay cooler when working hard in stressful environments. Even in such a lightweight performance fabric, DRIFIRE 4.4 has excellent durability when compared to heavier weight flame resistant fabrics. “In the past, workers had to decide between being cool and being protected. DRIFIRE 4.4 changes that. The weight of the fabric is unbelievably light; it’s really something you have to feel to believe. To have dual hazard protection in such ultra-lightweight garments is truly an industry game-changer,” said Bob Pastene, EVP of Sales and Marketing at DRIFIRE.

DRIFIRE 4.4 will be offered in a coverall and workshirt silhouette, and will debut at the National Safety Council’s Congress and Expo in September at the DRIFIRE booth 3614. To learn more, visit www.DRIFIRE.com.
