The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health has a lot of friends. In a recent letter, more than 150 organizations that make up the “Friends of NIOSH” urged congressional leaders to disregard President Obama’s proposed elimination (in his FY 2015 budget) of Education and Research Centers (ERCs) and Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing Program and maintain funding for them, as well as for NIOSH’s other programs.

The Supplement contains Documentation for the substances that were on the Notice of Intended Changes for 2013, with their corresponding values and notations, that have been approved and adopted as Threshold Limit Values (TLVs®) and Biological Exposure Indices (BEIs®).

The American Industrial Hygiene Association® (AIHA) has added 43 new distinguished Fellows, recognized for their significant contributions to the field of industrial hygiene, to its list. The Fellow classification is limited to no more than five percent of the AIHA membership.
ACGIH® will honor its 2014 awards recipients at the American Industrial Hygiene Conference and Exposition (AIHce) held May 31-June 5, 2014 in San Antonio, Texas. Each year, ACGIH® honors individuals and/or groups who have made significant contributions to the profession through their leadership and dedication. This year’s awardees join that distinguished list.
