OSHA nails NDK Crystals for $510,000 fine for egregious willful and

OSHA has slammed NDK Crystals Inc. in Belvedere, Ill., with fines of $510,000 for alleged egregious willful and serious violations of fed safety standards following an explosion at the company's crystal manufacturing building that took the life of a truck driver parked at a nearby service station. Workers at this facility were exposed to hazards that created a dangerous environment.

Survey: Most U.S. workers will continue to rely on employer-provided health benefits (5/27)

A majority of U.S. workers plan to rely on their employer-provided health care coverage now and in the future, according to a survey of more than 3,000 American workers and their dependents, conducted jointly by the National Business Group on Health and Hewitt Associates, said a recent press release. However, more than one-third would consider dropping their employer-provided health insurance if they become eligible to purchase similar coverage through other avenues.
