According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the national unemployment is 8.5 percent, which means many families are living on tighter budgets and struggle to maintain their health insurance coverage. Despite these challenges, there are still ways for consumers to remain protected and save on insurance costs, according to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC).

OSHA cites contractor after workers are overcome (5/14)

OSHA has cited a Cambridge, Mass., contractor for alleged willful and serious violations of safety and health standards after three of its employees were overcome by lack of oxygen on Oct. 20, 2008, while cleaning underground steam pipes on the Boston College campus in Newton, Mass. Thomas G. Gallagher Inc. faces a total of $71,000 in proposed fines.
