What will PPE look like in 2033? (10/15)

The International Safety Equipment Association is co-sponsoring a major symposium on the future of worker protection to be held the morning of November 11 in Arlington, VA. Protection2033, co-sponsored by the International Safety Equipment Association and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), will examine workplace hazards and worker protection in ISEA's centennial year. The symposium is part of the celebration of ISEA's 75th anniversary this year.

On Monday December 1st and Tuesday December 2nd 2008, the Dutch Foundation for Engineering of Fibrous Smart Materials will organize the “Personal Protective Equipment Conference 2008, Driving Innovation and Intelligent Public Procurement in the European Lead Market” at Hazemeyer Hengelo in Hengelo (The Netherlands). This is the first conference on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to set the European agenda for policy development and innovation based on long-term end-user needs and technological development.

New CSB safety video highlights training needs for propane emergencies (10/14)

The U.S. Chemical Safety Board (CSB) has released a new 23-minute safety video, "Half an Hour to Tragedy," based on the deadly propane gas explosion at the Little General convenience store in Ghent, West Virginia, in January 2007, according to a recent press release.

FDA introduces training kit to help reduce the risk of food contamination (10/14)

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the U.S. Department of Agriculture launched its food defense awareness training kit for first line food industry employees, according to a recent press release. The training targets these individuals because they can play an important role in helping to keep our nation’s food supply safe, from the farm to the table.
