OSHA announced Thursday that its 2008
Site-Specific Targeting (SST) plan will focus on approximately 3,800
high-hazard worksites on its primary list for unannounced comprehensive safety
inspections over the coming year.
Honeywell, Morris Township, N.J., announced
Friday it has completed its acquisition of Norcross Safety
Products L.L.C., a manufacturer of personal protective equipment (PPE), for approximately $1.2 billion.
OHSA has cited J.A.M. Construction Co. Inc. for
alleged willful, repeat and serious violations of excavation safety standards
at a Newport, R.I., worksite, an agency release reported. According to the agency,
the Middletown, R.I., contractor faces a total of $59,500 in proposed fines.
