At a press conference held yesterday afternoon at the National Safety Congress and Expo in Orlando, Mark Levy, president of Honeywell’s Life Safety Division, home of Honeywell Safety Products (including Salisbury, BW Technology, Sperian, and Norcross brands) said in response to a question that the U.S. economy maybe has recovered 50% from the depths of the Great Recession of just a few years ago.

The National Safety Council is celebrating 100 Years of Safety over the next year and is launching the commemoration at the 2012 NSC Congress & Expo in Orlando, October 21-25.

It’s always hazardous to compile lists of who’s who. Deserving folks are always omitted. Nonetheless, here is a list of young or relatively young thought leaders in the EHS field.

On Oct. 22, the National Safety Council, in town for its annual Congress & Expo at the Orange County Convention Center, will host Rock ‘n’ Community: Connections for a Cause™, a networking and philanthropy event to raise funds for the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation and teen safe driving efforts.

Maybe the EHD field should not as concerned as it about attrition and dwindling ranks of pros. The word out of the NSC show in Orlando is all positive.

It’s a sign of the times; 30 CEOs are vying for the honor of being named Annual Responsible Chief Executive Officer of the Year by CR Magazine.

Identifying, developing, and retaining quality resources has always been critical to long-term business sustainability. However, some experts now believe traditional subject matter expertise will not be the limiting factor in the future.
