Jim Howe, CSP, is president of Safety Solutions — www.newviewofsafetyandhealth.com — a consultancy specializing in the new view of health and safety, systems thinking, management systems, leading indicators, learning teams and culture. Jim retired from the United Auto Workers Union after 20 years, where he was the Assistant Director of the Health and Safety Department. Jim has conducted more than 300 plant inspections and more than 85 fatality inspections. Jim has been a member of a number of ANSI committees related to machinery safeguarding, lockout, robot safety and risk assessment.
