Saf-T-Gard® International, Inc., a family-owned and operated global supplier of industrial safety products, recently earned recognition from both the Village of Northbrook and the Illinois Senate for the company’s 80th anniversary. A State of Illinois Senate Recognition certificate was granted by Illinois Senate President, John J. Cullerton, Secretary of the Senate, Tim Anderson, and Julie A. Morrison, State Senator from the 29th district.
To minimize the potential for workplace injuries and illnesses, OSHA requires personal protective equipment (PPE) for all employees exposed to hazards. In today’s complex work environments, various types of PPE are needed to satisfy the regulations, which apply to physical, electrical, mechanical, chemical, radiological and other hazards.
PPE compliance is a major concern for safety professionals. Despite new PPE developments that offer reduced weight and improved comfort and style, there are few new solutions that directly address an employee’s decision to wear PPE.
The International Safety Equipment Association (ISEA) has named Lydia Baugh to the newly created post of communications director. In this capacity, Baugh is responsible for developing and implementing the association’s communications strategy, which includes overseeing the communications activities of ISEA’s programs and providing strategic support to the President and senior management.
