Adults sleep just under seven hours per night during the work week — experts recommend eight hours a night — and almost half of those surveyed (45 percent) say they'll sleep less to accomplish more.
Americans put in longer hours on the job than any industrialized nation in the world, according to a recent study by the International Labour Organization. But one out of every two workers (51 percent) reports that sleepiness on the job interferes with the amount of work they get done.
Two-thirds of adults say that sleepiness interferes with their concentration (68 percent) and makes handling stress (66 percent) on the job more difficult.
More than two-thirds (68 percent) of shift workers report problems sleeping.
