Honeywell introduces Fibre-Metal® Roughneck P1 full-brim fiberglass hard hat for heavy duty head protection even in extreme temperatures

April 27, 2015

Fibre-Metal Roughneck P1 Hard HatHoneywell (NYSE: HON) announced today the Fibre-Metal Roughneck P1 Hard Hat, a full-brim, fiberglass hard hat designed to provide heavy duty head protection even in extreme temperatures. The P1 is the latest addition to Honeywell’s Roughneck series of injection-molded fiberglass hats and caps.

The new hard hat features Fibre-Metal’s patented SuperEight® suspension and a full brim to deliver maximum comfort and added protection. Built for strength, toughness and durability, the P1 is ideally suited for use in construction sites, steel plants, foundries, forges, fabrication shops, chemical plants and other extreme environments.

“Roughneck hard hats are the industry standard for head protection in the world’s most demanding work environments,” said Katie Twist-Rowlinson, product manager of Hard Hats and Welding Helmets for Honeywell Safety Products. “By adding a full-brim style to the series, we offer wearers added protection from environmental elements such as sun, rain and snow as well as work site hazards including overhead objects and falling debris.”

While the hat’s full brim provides 360 degrees of overhead protection, the technically advanced SuperEight Suspension System balances and spreads weight over a wide area to deliver all-day comfort and superior impact protection. Its proprietary injection-molded fiberglass is eight times stronger than common high density polyethylene (HDPE) shells and delivers best-in-class heat resistance, providing impact resistance in temperatures up to 370°F/188°C.

The Roughneck P1 is available with three headgear options – TabLok™, Ratchet and SwingStrap™ – for quick, easy-to-use adjustability and comfort. The hat’s solid color resin provides a permanent, no-chip, no-peel finish, and is available in nine popular shades with custom imprinting available in up to 4 locations. The Roughneck P1 Hard Hat meets ANSI Z89.1-2014 and CSA Z94.1-2005 Type I Class G standards.

The Fibre-Metal Roughneck P1 Hard Hat is available now through major safety equipment distributors in the Americas. Contact the Honeywell Safety Products customer care department at 800-430-5490 for more information about the full line of Fibre-Metal head and face protection products and where they may be purchased.
