Casella today introduced the next generation of its acclaimed Apex® personal sampling pump: the all-new Apex2 featuring Bluetooth 4.0 wireless connectivity and supporting Airwave™ app. 

The first of its kind, the Apex2 empowers occupational hygiene professionals to remotely monitor multiple employees on an Android® mobile device from up to 75 feet away -- without interrupting the wearer or disrupting overall productivity. It is the ultimate solution for air sampling of an employee's breathing zone for particles such as lead, dust, asbestos, or for VOC's and other airborne contaminants.

Unlike some other pumps, the Apex2 is designed for use in the most extreme environments thanks to an exceptionally rugged sealed housing. It is rated IP65 resistant to water and dust ingress, and it has a smooth finish for thorough decontamination after use. Other field-proven features are its sturdy clip (with lifetime guarantee) for mounting securely on the wearer; optional detachable rubber boots to give even greater protection; and a unique motion sensor that records movement to confirm the pump was not stationary while it should have been worn.

The Apex2 pump pulls prodigious back pressure levels with minimal pulsation, but is unobtrusive to wear, simple to use, and easy to maintain. With high performing Li ion batteries and intelligent battery indicator, it also lets the user safely know how much expected run time remains before recharge.

Like all Casella products,the Apex2 is made for trouble-free operation. It is a breeze to navigate through the color-coded startup and set-up menus on its brilliant color OLED display and by remotely viewing pump status using the Airwave™ App's dashboard display. Run data, such as total volume sampled, is viewed at a glance and can be emailed alongside photos and notes direct to a co-worker's PC to make reporting easier. Up to 200 separate runs can be stored on its on-board memory, including start time and date, duration, sample volume, and motion index.
