Ergodyne continues drops prevention innovation with five new solutions

Ergodyne
February 6, 2019

Ergodyne has announced the expansion of its pioneering Squids® line of tool tethering systems to prevent dropped objects on the job.

The additions include:

  • 3156 Coil Tool Lanyard Single Carabiner - 2lbs / 0.9kg
  • 3166 Coil Tool Lanyard Dual Carabiner - 2lbs / 0.9kg
  • 3194 Hand Tool Tethering Kit
  • 3195 Cell Phone Tool Tethering Kit
  • 3196 Grinder Tool Tethering Kit

Tested to the ANSI/ISEA 121-2018 standard, Squids® Coil Tool Lanyards offer workers multi-use versatility, easily attaching to hard hats and other small hand tools with single or dual carabiner options made of lightweight and durable aluminum. The tether’s coiled design stretches from a compact 12in to 48in (30cm to 122cm) to prevent snag and tangle hazards in addition to dropped objects.

“The coiled design makes for a low-profile, compact solution that stays out of the way when the tool’s not in use,” explained Brent Velenchenko, senior product specialist, Ergodyne. “It’s a popular choice for hard hats, but that’s hardly the limit… they’re also ideal for tools like smaller screwdrivers or hex wrenches.”

Meanwhile, three new tool tethering kits promise workers everything they need to tether screwdrivers, hex keys, pliers, combination wrenches, mobile devices and power grinders with confidence – all in one handy kit. The 3194 Hand Tool Tethering Kit and the 3195 Cell Phone Tool Tethering Kit feature the new 3156 Coil Tool Lanyard in addition to other ANSI/ISEA 121-2018 compliant components to take the guesswork out the sometimes confusing task of tethering small hand tools, mobile devices and other implements workers are taking to heights.

The Squids® Grinder Tool Tethering Kit includes a 3110F(x) Dual Carabiner Tool Lanyard and a 3797 Power Tool Bracket to tether one standard corded or cordless grinder power tool weighing up to 8lbs (3.6kg).

“These kits provide workers with a complete tethering system,” continued Velenchenko. “Workers can simply grab one and feel confident that they have everything they need to tether their tools safely and effectively.”
