Ergodyne offers additional shelter solutions in time for summer

Ergodyne
April 15, 2019

Ergodyne has announced the addition of three new item to its SHAX® line of portable work shelters. The SHAX® line features a number of pop-up tents and accessories designed to go up quickly and easily to provide shade and shelter at a jobsite.

Having shade available at the jobsite isn’t just a nice to have, in some states it’s a requirement. In California, for example, employers must provide access to shade for their employees that is either ventilated or open to the air when the outdoor temperature in the work area exceeds 80°F. OSHA started a Water. Rest. Shade campaign in 2014 to stress the importance that shade plays in preventing heat-related illnesses at the jobsite.

Shade is defined as anything that offers full blockage of the sunlight. “We realized there was a real need for shade solutions for the jobsite,” says Alsie Nelson, Senior Product Manager for Ergodyne. “Crews needed something that was portable and easy to put up, so we developed the SHAX® line and continue to expand upon it, giving safety managers and crews more options.”

The SHAX® 6051 Heavy-Duty Pop-Up Tent Kit includes everything to get up and running right out of the box, including a 10’x10’ (3m x 3m) tent, two detachable side panels, two weight bags to anchor the tent, ground stakes and a large wheeled storage bag.

The new 10’x20’ (3m x 6m) size tent offers a larger footprint to accommodate more workers. The SHAX® 6015 Heavy-Duty Pop-Up Tent has a water-resistant coating and UV treatment to block rain and sun, adjustable height from 10’ to 14’, and also has a vented top to distribute air. Plus, it meets CPAI-84 flame resistance code. If you need multiple, these new Tents are also available to purchase by the pallet load. Each pallet includes 10 tent and offers 25% savings versus purchasing them individually.

Add the SHAX® 6098 Pop-Up Tent Sidewall - 10ft x 10ft / 3m x 3m and the SHAX® 6097 Pop-Up Tent Sidewalls – 10ft x 20ft / 3m x 6m to add privacy and protection from the sun, wind and rain. The 6098 Sidewalls work with the SHAX® 10’x10’ pop-up tents, and both the 10’ sides of the new 10’x20’ tent. The SHAX® 6097 Sidewalls only work with the 20’ sides of the new 10’x20’ tent.

Blocking the sun and providing shade is so important when it comes to keeping workers safe, healthy and protective. These shelters offer an easy-up solution when it comes to offering a shady spot for workers to rest, recharge and rehydrate.
