Ergodyne adds new breakaway and self-extinguishing vests to hi-vis line
Ergodyne announced today that it is adding two new high-visibility vest options to its GloWear® line. The first is a hi-vis 5-point breakaway vest, designed to harmlessly break away from the body in case of entanglement. The second is a self-extinguishing vest designed to prevent after-flame.
“We’re excited to bring these two new options to our lineup of hi-vis,” says Chris Cota, Senior Product Manager for Ergodyne. “Both vests meet ANSI/ISEA 107-2015 Type R Class 2 standard and have all the features workers are looking for in a high-visibility vest.”
The new 8217BA Hi-vis 5-Point Breakaway Vest is designed with 5 points (shoulders, sides and front) that will break away from the body in case of mechanical entanglement. Outfitted with 2” ANSI-compliant reflective tape for maximum visibility, three strategically placed pockets, it’s a smart, safe option for jobs around moving machinery.
The 8256Z Self-extinguishing Vest is made from treated 100% polyester designed to self-extinguish as defined by ASTM D6413 in less than 2 seconds and have less than 6in / 15cm of char length. This vest is a smart hi-vis solution for welders or jobsites where sparks may fly.
“Being seen is a major part of staying safe on the job, and these two vests take that one step further by adding other essential safety features, like breakaway points or self-extinguishing material to the hi-vis that make them even safer for different jobsites,” adds Cota.
