Leeco Steel names safety manager, revitalizes safety program

Leeco Steel
April 14, 2021

Leeco® Steel, the largest supplier of steel plate in North America, announces the appointment of Jill Laumann to Safety Manager, effective April 5, 2021, as part of the company’s effort to revitalize its safety program.

In her new role, Ms. Laumann will manage company-wide safety initiatives and focus on extending Leeco’s 29-month stretch of zero recordable accidents across all facilities.

“Employee safety has always been Leeco’s top priority,” said Chad Schuh, Vice President of Operations. “With Jill heading our safety program, we are excited to see how Leeco can further improve current safety protocols and implement new initiatives to help keep our employees safe.”

Some of the safety initiatives that Ms. Laumann will implement in her role include evaluating and improving current safety documentation processes, increasing safety communications throughout facilities, updating and training facility managers on emergency response plans and ensuring that all facilities continue to be OSHA compliant.

Ms. Laumann started her career at Leeco in 2006 as a Shipping and Receiving Associate at our recently opened Oshkosh, WI distribution center. She was later promoted to Warehouse Supervisor of the Oshkosh warehouse in 2014.
