The Office of Management and Budget has completed its review of amendments to the final rule on Assigned Protection Factors (APF) for respiratory protection gear, according to the American Industrial Hygiene Association. According to insiders, the review report will be controversial - it would likely assign single-use dust masks and elastometric half-masks the same APF.

An update on where OSHA is likely to go with this decision will be presented at the Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health meeting scheduled later in May.
