OSHA is requesting comment on a new segment being proposed under its Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) program.

The new segment, the Satellite Notification and Acceptance Program, or “SNAP,” is a voluntary program that specifies the criteria and conditions under which any NRTL may control and audit certain facilities in order to perform particular functions at those facilities.

The program segment would allow NRTLs to use facilities referred to as “SNAP sites,” which they would control and audit, in order to perform so-called “certification functions,” according to theFederal Registernotice. NRTLs would need to meet certain criteria and conditions to be approved by OSHA for SNAP.
