The Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals™ (AHMP) is making a recertification tracking service product available to its members and other environmental, health, safety and security (EHS&S) professionals, announced association Executive Director A. Cedric Calhoun, CAE, according to a recent press release.

Developed by OverNite Software, Inc., in cooperation with AHMP, formerly the Academy of Certified Hazardous Materials Managers (ACHMM), the Recertification Tracking Service is free to all AHMP members. Nonmembers must pay a nominal $50 annual fee — for records maintenance and reporting — to access the service.

AHMP members and nonmembers with an existing AHMP account can access the Recertification Tracking Service by going to the association’s Web site atwww.ahmpnet.orgor directly athttp://66.111.106.182/cgi-mbo/menus.pland entering their personal AHMP (former ACHMM) login ID and password. Nonmembers who do not have an AHMP account must call the association at (800) 437-0137 for instructions on how to access this new service.

By using this service, holders of the Certified Hazardous Materials Manager® (CHMM®) designation can easily and efficiently track their progress toward attaining recertification from the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management. The program also can be used by other EHS&S professionals to track their progress toward retaining their industry designation, notes Calhoun.

Users of this new AHMP member benefit will be able to:
  • Create a recertification portfolio;
  • View their recertification documents;
  • Update and add activity documents eligible for recertification points; and
  • Print the information at the end of the recertification cycle for submission to their designation's certifying body.
