More than 500 safety professionals from around the world will gather in Kuwait next month for the Sixth International
Health, Safety, Security, Environment (HSSE) and Loss Prevention Professional Development Conference (PDC) and Exhibition hosted by the American Association of Safety Engineers' (ASSE) Kuwait Chapter.

The Nov. 29th-Dec. 1 event will include a trade show, interactive technical sessions hosted by the Kuwait PDC, workshops, and symposiums conducted by well-known international SH&E speakers including; ASSE President Terrie S. Norris, CSP, ARM; Dr. Ahmad Al Shatti, Director of the Occupational Health Department for Kuwait;  Hussam Al Kharafi, Chairman of the Kuwait Society of Engineers; Bader Al Khashti, Managing Director of Research and Development and HSE  for the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation.

Norris, who is also the Risk Control Manager for Long Beach, CA-based Bickmore Risk Services will give a presentation on ‘Preparing HSE
Professionals for the Challenges of Tomorrow’, and will also serve as the Chairperson for a discussion with ‘Women in Safety Engineering’.

Kuwait’s Minister of Oil, Minister of Parliament Affairs and Chairman of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation Board of Directors H.E. Dr.
Mohammed Mohsen Al-Busairi will serve as the Chief Patron of the conference.

Additional key topics that will be addressed include; fire safety in buildings, gulf occupational health and safety, process safety management
(PSM) implementation, ANSI/API Standard 780, green building programs, security’s role for emergency management and disasters, and HSE regulations in Kuwait.
