New RAE Systems gamma radiation detectors deliver remote real-time threat monitoring for enhanced organizational safety

MeshGuard Gamma Wireless Detector and DoseRAE Pro Dosimeter provide rapidly deployable, cost-effective detection and radiation dosimetry solutions

September 26, 2013

Product InnovationsChanging industry regulations and major global industrial disasters have driven organizational safety officers to seek plant-wide gas and radiation detection solutions that allow them to make the time-critical safety decisions that can save lives and assets.

To meet this demand, RAE Systems Inc., the leader in connected toxic gas and radiation detection solutions, today introduced two new monitors to its field-proven line of connected, intelligent real-time radiation detection solutions. These two new monitors leverage real-time radiation threat data to deliver enhanced worker and public safety, and enable faster incident response times.

The MeshGuard Gamma detector, RAE Systems’ latest addition to its popular MeshGuard Wireless Gas Detection System, delivers industry-first, real-time continuous monitoring of gamma radiation threats in a cost-effective, rapidly deployable solution for 24/7 monitoring of large industrial facilities and remote sites.

RAE Systems also introduced the DoseRAE Pro Dosimeter, a rugged, compact, direct-reading Electronic Personal Dosimeter (EPD) that provides industry-leading electronic radiation dosimetry for unmatched personal radiation detection and protection.

“RAE Systems has led the way in wireless toxic gas and radiation detection solutions for more than a decade and continuously strives to deliver breakthrough, innovative wireless technologies that elevate safety to new levels,” stated Bill Kolbeck, RAE Systems’ vice president of radiation instrumentation. “With the addition of the MeshGuard Gamma wireless radiation detector and DoseRAE Pro Electronic Personal Dosimeter, safety officers now have comprehensive solutions for continuous, real-time monitoring of personal and wide-area radiation threats.”

MeshGuard Gamma Wireless Radiation Detector

The MeshGuard Gamma wireless radiation detector is a key building block of the MeshGuard intelligent network of connected detectors. The MeshGuard System is a battery-operated, rapidly deployable hazardous area monitoring system that combines advanced gas and radiation-detection technology with the latest in wirelessly connected data systems. The MeshGuard System uses a self-forming and self-healing network that allows it to balance network traffic by automatically routing data to the controller through the best wireless path available.

DoseRAE Pro Personal Dosimeter

The DoseRAE Pro accurately measures both dose rate and accumulated personal dose and stores dose datalogs of up to 3,000 points. DoseRAE Pro’s fast-response, highly sensitive scintillation detector with PIN diode measures real-time dose rate and provides the functionality of a Personal Radiation Detector (PRD). DoseRAE Pro’s wide energy response and dose rate range maximizes the safety of radiation-industry workers and emergency responders.

Availability

The MeshGuard Gamma detector and DoseRAE Pro Electronic Personal Dosimeter are available now. Orders will be accepted through RAE Systems distributors beginning October 1, 2013. Customers interested in obtaining more information or purchasing the MeshGuard Gamma or DoseRAE Pro should contact their RAE Systems Distributor or RAE Systems regional sales manager.
