Beyond the educational sessions...
Safety 2014 also offers networking, socializing and golf
While the educational sessions will be the central focus of most of those who head to Orlando June 8 – 11 for Safety 2014, there are lots of social activities to help round out the convention experience.
The American Society of Safety Engineers Foundation’s golf outing will get underway with a Shotgun Start at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 8 at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club® Orlando. (Visit the course here!)
This event benefits ASSEF’s Safety Matters fund, which supports all Foundation programs in research, education, and leadership development within the safety community. You can register individually or as a team of four. Companies can sponsor the event at one of several levels ranging from $250 - $3,000. For sponsorship information, download the Sponsorship Form.
The $165 golf registration fee includes: Green fee, cart rental, range balls, and lunch. Prizes will be awarded for the top three teams and other activities such as longest drive and closest to the pin.

On Monday, June 9 at 11:45 representatives of some of ASSE’s 150 chapters (with 35,000 members in 80 countries) will attend a Chapter Recognition Luncheon.
At the same time, there’ll be a Council on Practices and Standards (CoPS) Awards luncheon.
Hearing from CEOs
One the most highly anticipated features of Safety 2014, the Executive Summit, will take place on Wed June 11 from 9:15am - 10:15am. Consisting of CEOs, presidents and vice presidents from a range of industries, the Summit provides a valuable view of safety from top leaders. The panel delivers expert advice and firsthand testimonials in order to help SH&E professionals better understand what is expected of them and how they can interact more with senior management. The stories and examples they share offer additional tools and strategies that can help SH&E professionals understand their role, overcome organizational obstacles and ultimately be more effective.
