DuPont Protection Technologies announces winners of DuPont™ Kevlar® Glove Innovation Awards

Entries showcase breakthrough new glove designs

DuPont glove awardsDuPont Protection Technologies today announced the winners of the 2014 DuPont™ Kevlar® Glove Innovation Awards in conjunction with the 2014 National Safety Council Congress & Expo in San Diego, Calif. The awards are designed to recognize innovative glove designs from DuPont™ Kevlar® licensees who are meeting evolving marketplace needs. Winning glove entries were chosen based on designs that utilized Kevlar® fiber in the glove construction, were unique and groundbreaking in their approach, and challenged the boundaries of conventional cut protection. Winners recognized in this year’s Innovation Awards include: Ansell gloves 97-100 and 46-111 made by Ansell; Memphis 9178NF from MCR Safety; Dexterity® S13KFGPU and Dexterity® S18KGFN from Superior Glove Works Ltd; and the FR Waterproof Ultimate Lined with Kevlar® from Youngstown Glove Company.

“We were very impressed with the entries and selecting the winners was a difficult task,” said Dave Buzzelli, North American marketing manager, Kevlar® Cut Protection. “The winners best demonstrated true innovation by using this advanced material in different and exciting ways, exemplifying a Dare Bigger™ approach with DuPont™ Kevlar®.”

Entries were judged on a set of criteria based on excellence in the areas of innovation, protection and collaboration. Submissions were broad and varied, with end uses in navy ship yards, prisons, manufacturing facilities, and oil field service applications.  Benefits to the wearer include enhanced protection, increased dexterity, wind and water proofing, and durability – all critical to safety and performance in extreme conditions.
