Each year, Distinguished Service to Safety Awards are presented to individuals who, throughout their careers, have demonstrated outstanding service to the field of safety and health.

The National Safety Council has recognized the Honorable Elizabeth Dole with the Council’s Flame of Life Award as one of the century’s foremost leaders in safety. The award, which recognizes significant lifesaving contributions to safety, has only been awarded three times.

We recently had an email conversation with E. Scott Geller, Ph.D., Alumni Distinguished Professor, Center for Applied Behavior Systems, Virginia Tech, on Actively Caring For People – AC4P – the subject of a new book Scott is introducing at the National Safety Congress.
The National Safety Council on Monday at the National Safety Congress in Orlando announced Exxon Mobil Corporation is the recipient of the 2013 Green Cross for Safety medal for its comprehensive commitment to safety excellence.
It’s always hazardous to compile lists of who’s who. Deserving folks are always omitted. Nonetheless, here is a list of young or relatively young thought leaders in the EHS field.
Maybe the EHD field should not as concerned as it about attrition and dwindling ranks of pros. The word out of the NSC show in Orlando is all positive.
OSHA and the Airline Ground Safety Panel have renewed their alliance to address hazards and worker injuries related to operating aviation ground support equipment.
