OSHA has cited North Florida Roofing & Repair of Jacksonville with one willful, one repeat and two serious safety violations following an inspection at a job site on Ashbourne Trail in Jacksonville. The agency initiated the inspection in August as part of its local emphasis program on fall hazards.

The Ladder Association has launched its first Christmas campaign to help keep people safe when using ladders and stepladders over the festive period. Its five ladder facts for Christmas are:

1 – 1926.501 Fall Protection (8,241 total violations
2 – 1910.1200 Hazard Communication (6,156 violations)
3 – 1926.451 Scaffolding (5,423)

Last year, OSHA Director of Construction Jim Maddux delivered a presentation on OSHA’s new campaign to prevent fatal falls at the annual conference of the American Society of Safety Engineers.
