Pelican bolsters its operational team

Vendor NewsPelican Products, the global leader in the design and manufacture of high-impact protective case solutions and advanced portable lighting is strengthening their operations management team. Additions include the hiring of Yung Tran as Director of Global Supply Chain, Eric Stern as Director of Operations for their Torrance Headquarters and the promotion of Bruce Tennant to Director of Operations – Consumer Electronics.

Yung Tran – Director of Global Supply Chain
Tran will be responsible for improvement of management practices and development of business process solutions around demand management, supply network planning, production planning, logistics, inventory management, sales and operations planning. He comes to Pelican with over 25 years of experience implementing and managing mission critical SCM and ERP applications. Prior to joining Pelican, Tran held numerous executive positions, and he has worked as a consultant in a wide variety of industries in support of companies like Dolby, National Semiconductor, Motorola, Hasbro, Owens Corning, ITT and Nike. Tran holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Eric Stern, Director of Operations, Torrance Facility
Stern comes to Pelican with over 25 years of experience in operational leadership and will bring that wealth of experience to lead efforts at Pelican’s corporate headquarters in safety, quality, delivery, cost and inventory. Before coming on board, he most recently served as COO for a division of Esterline and has spent the majority of his career in positions of increasing leadership responsibility with Rockwell Collins. Stern holds a Master’s Degree in Engineering Management and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Florida.

Bruce Tennant – Director of Operations – Consumer Electronics
In his new role in the consumer products channel Tennant will have full oversight and be responsible for all operational aspects of the consumer electronics product roadmap including supply chain, logistics, quality assurance and project management. While at Pelican he has worked his way up through the operations team serving in various project management roles in engineering and planning. He has led large cross-functional teams on Pelican corporate projects including the roll out and overhaul of the company’s ERP and logistics systems, facility planning and moving of the company’s headquarters. Before joining the Pelican team Tennant served in various technical and management positions for Edelbrock, Rainbird, Otis Elevators, Atlas Copco and Black & Decker. Tennant holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Windsor.
