The American Industrial Hygiene Association® (AIHA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the National Institute of Occupational and Environmental Health (NIOEH) in Vietnam.  This collaborative agreement is for scientific cooperation in the field of occupational and environmental health. The agreement, signed in July, is valid for three years and will undergo a review at the end of that term.

The NIOEH was founded by the Vietnamese Ministry of Health in 1982, and is recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Center in Occupational Health. The overall goal of this collaboration is to strengthen the occupational and environmental health capabilities of NIOEH in the areas of research, participatory trainings, exchange of information on occupational safety and health issues, and production of educational material.

"This new agreement will foster knowledge sharing and education development, which will help lead to a global standard of practice," said AIHA President Daniel H. Anna, PhD, CIH, CSP. "This MOU will provide collaborative opportunities for both organizations."
