OS+H Asia Returns in 2016

October 28, 2015

OS+H Asia, The Occupational Safety + Health Exhibition for Asia, will return for its 10th edition from August 24 – 26, 2016 to Suntec Singapore. With occupational safety, health-maintaining working conditions and a healthy workforce becoming a high priority for all companies particularly within ASEAN member countries, OS+H Asia 2016 will present the latest in occupational safety and health solutions, technologies and products across diverse industries and sectors.

“The three established themes safety, security and health at work have traditionally been OS+H Asia’s focal points, but in 2016, there will be an enhanced presentation of safety monitoring and surveillance systems, solutions for work safety in high risk areas, industrial first aid equipment, ergonomically designed work solutions and environmental and fire protection gear among many others, in order to keep with current trends and oriented towards the needs of the core target groups from corporate safety and the health management sector,” said Gernot Ringling, Managing Director of the show’s organizer Messe Düsseldorf Asia.

In view of the changing work landscape all over the world as companies strive to raise OSH standards, technology development for workplace safety and health are becoming increasingly significant. “OS+H Asia is a unique platform that provides significant impact in helping companies improve their safety and health standards and in developing a proactive and preventive approach to safety and health in the workplace,” added Gernot Ringling.

Over the last few years, many ASEAN member countries have made rapid progress in raising OSH standards as governments in the region step up workplace safety policies. By 2018, Singapore aims to reduce the national fatality rate to less than 1.8 per 100,000 workers according to WSH2018 – the National Strategy for Workplace Safety and Health. Thailand has also launched their “Safety Mind” project in order to establish workplace safety as a principle and attitude for organizations and workers towards safety in their workplace. With the aim to enhance and implement OSH requirements across Asia’s booming infrastructure, manufacturing and constructions sectors, producers, manufacturers, suppliers and distributors of safety products and solutions will play a key role in helping businesses achieve safety excellence.

At OS+H Asia 2016, the growing need for workplace safety and health products in addition to the government and industry’s demand for companies to achieve a zero-harm and accident-free status will be reflected by more than 200 international exhibitors and leading brands. As a highly targeted event for occupational safety and health professionals, the trade fair offers an exclusive opportunity for exhibitors to connect and engage with international decision makers for three days of face-to-face business meetings and networking.

Driven by the sector’s leading international trade show for personal protection, security and health at the workplace  - A+A organized by Messe Düsseldorf every two years in Germany - OS+H Asia has continually grown since its inception in 1998. The last staging in 2014 attracted 157 exhibitors from 18 countries and 5,800 trade visitors from around the region.

Target groups of OS+H Asia 2016 include experts from the field of occupational safety and safety management, facilities and site managers, administrators and managers, specialist stores, human resource officers and industrial purchasers as well as personnel and supervisory boards and emergency services personnel.

The OS+H Asia 2016 exhibits will be complemented by the Singapore WSH Conference 2016 and the Forum on Workplace Safety and Health. The Singapore WSH Conference 2016 is a two-day conference jointly organized by Singapore’s WSH Council, the Ministry of Manpower and the WSH Institute, scheduled for August 24 and 25, 2016. The conference will bring together some 1,000 senior government officials, heads of management, world-renowned WSH professionals and practitioners from diverse industries in the Asia Pacific region. The Forum on Workplace Safety and Health is a one-day regional forum jointly organized by the Institution of Engineers, the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (Singapore Branch), the Occupational and Environmental Health Society (Singapore), the Singapore Institution of Safety Officers and Messe Düsseldorf Asia. The forum will take place on August 26, 2016, attracting more than 400 WSH experts, professionals, specialist service providers and manufacturers within ASEAN.
