Newly designed training program safeguards unqualified employees against common workplace electrical hazards

Training from J. J. Keller & Associates, Inc. introduces the basics of electrical hazards in the workplace and emphasizes safety responsibility of all employees

January 14, 2016

JJ KellerJ. J. Keller & Associates, Inc., a leader in safety and regulatory compliance, announced today the introduction of a new training program to safeguard unqualified employees against common workplace electrical hazards.

The training program provides an explanation of various electrical hazards, methods for preventing injury and how to respond in the event of an electrical emergency. Developed with input from real-world electrical safety professionals, the training satisfies 29 CFR 1910.332(a), 1910.332(b)(1), and 1910.332(b)(2) OSHA requirements for unqualified workers.

“All employees are responsible for maintaining a safe workplace,” said Mark Stromme, workplace safety expert for J. J. Keller & Associates, Inc. “The new program is designed specifically with unqualified employees in mind, introducing them to the basics of electrical hazards and emphasizing their role in the prevention of potentially life-threatening injuries.”

J. J. Keller has addressed this specific training need with Electrical Safety: Training for Unqualified Employees, which covers the basics of electricity and safe work practices for employees who face the risk of electric shock while on the job, but do not work on or near exposed or energized parts.

The training program consists of a 25-minute training video, trainer guide and tools CD-ROM, employee handbooks, awareness poster and two bonus videos — Arc Flash/Arc Blast Awareness & Safety and Power Tool & Extension Cord Safety.

Electrical Safety: Training for Unqualified Employees comes complete with the J. J. Keller® EyeCue® Visual Learning System, which utilizes a three-step training, visual identification and reinforcement process to enhance employee recognition of the key learning concepts to improve overall workplace safety. DVD, Online Courses and Pay-Per-View formats are now available on JJKeller.com

Arc Flash/Arc Blast Awareness & Safety is also available as a separate online course. To learn more about avoiding and responding to arc flash and arc blast emergencies, visit JJKellertraining.com.
