Speakman introduces Lifesaver® Emergency Shower Heads

Offers superior showering performance for critical safety situations

July 14, 2016

Speakman, the premier maker of high-performance shower heads and plumbing products for over 145 years, today announced the introduction of its Lifesaver® Emergency Shower Head, a safety shower head providing a spray strong enough to cleanse away harmful chemicals but soft enough to be used comfortably in labs, industrial buildings, and other settings requiring emergency shower capabilities.

The Speakman Lifesaver Emergency Shower head lineup features a new, high-performance spray engine that delivers water quickly, but remains comfortable enough for a user to stand under the spray for a full 15 minutes—the amount of time required to ensure effective washing after exposure to hazardous chemicals. Innovations in the new product line includes an integral flow regulator that controls the water flow to 20 gallons per minute (gpm). Integral flow control also allows for emergency shower head and eyewash use, simultaneously and with maximum effectiveness.

Featured on all Speakman Emergengy Deluge Showers, the ANSI/ISEA Z358.1-certified Lifesaver range includes three products:

• Lifesaver SE-810—8-inch bright yellow ABS plastic featured on all safety showers

• Lifesaver SE-820—8-inch stainless steel finish

• Lifesaver SE-830—10-inch stainless steel finish; featured on recessed shower and combination units

“Our customers in rugged environments where harmful chemicals are used demand products that don’t compromise—like the new lineup of Lifesaver emergency shower heads,” said Speakman Vice President of Safety Sales Imants Stiebris. “We take seriously our responsibility to engineer high-performance solutions that deliver water that help our customers maintain a commitment to safety, and we’re proud to set a new standard in safety shower head performance with this new product line.”

Lifesaver Shower Heads also can be easily retrofitted to update products already in the field. The shower heads also drain water completely, eliminating the worry that water will collect and freeze in very cold environments.
