Speaking of special offers – new deal on Trojan2 Noise Nuisance Recorder

Cirrus
September 21, 2016

Cirrus Research’s best-selling Trojan noise nuisance recorder is even better value for money with a year-end special offer now available.

With a host of new innovations included as standard, any Trojan2 orders received before December 31, 2016, will also receive a free, high quality, active loud speaker for playback purposes and a 15% discount of calibration services, guaranteed for two years.

Overall the package is worth up to £500.

Trojan2 also offers end users a raft of features and functions and coupled with its upgraded software, measurements can be made over longer periods of time.

“It has been designed to meet the needs of Environmental Health Officers, Housing Associations and anyone who needs to measure, monitor and record noise nuisance,” said Tom Shelton, Cirrus Research Marketing Manager.

“This special offer means there are even more savings to be made against the overall kit, so it represents fantastic value for money.

Trojan2 user Jill Edmondson, in Wakefield Council’s Communities Environmental Health Department agreed: “The recordings are invaluable when an officer has to approach the subject of the complaint and if necessary show them the evidence of noise nuisance.” she said. “The Trojan is particularly invaluable when the noise nuisance is sporadic. “It gives us a very clear picture of what is going on.”

Trojan2 offers high quality, high resolution audio recording as standard using a 16bit/16kHz uncompressed WAV file. This gives plenty of frequency range (up to 8kHz) and a wide dynamic range (up to 96dB) so audio recordings can handle both high and low levels with no loss of quality.”

Another key feature is the Wireless remote control and 4GB memory. This is usually more than enough for most applications but it can be expanded with a 32GB option.

The AuditStore function in the Trojan2 also guarantees the chain of data from the instrument to the software, a useful feature if you need to present measurements and recordings as evidence.

Other noise monitoring must-haves included on the Trojan2 are Pre & Post Trigger options for audio recording that can be set as needed. The pre-trigger can be up to 30 seconds and post-trigger up to 60 seconds.

All the software provided is licence-free with NoiseTools supplied as standard, free of charge and without any installation or licensing restrictions. This means customers can install it onto many desktops, laptops or servers as necessary at no extra cost. Updates are free of charge.

The Trojan2 is designed to be mains powered with secure cables, but it will switch to its own internal batteries if the mains power is lost. Another important feature is that when power is restored, the noise nuisance recorder will start up again and continue to operate. The Trojan2 will automatically restart when the mains power is restored even if its internal batteries are flat.

Other modifications to make life easier for the end user include:
• Quicker and simpler removal of the cables for transport and storage
• Less cables to connect to the sound level meter
• More space in the case for storing accessories
• A simple way to add a wired hand switch if needed
The Trojan2 is designed, manufactured & supported in the UK and backed by a 15-year warranty

NOISETOOLS SOFTWARE:

The software is a key part of the Trojan2 system and provides the ability to download measurements and recordings, view data and replay audio files directly from any PC. The measurements are stored in a simple tree structure so information is easy to find and data can be tagged with a place, person or project to organise the information for later analysis.

If necessary, replaying the audio recordings through speakers, NoiseTools has a calibration system built-in that lets the customer adjust the levels to accurately represent those at the time of the recording. NoiseTools can also be used with noise measurements and audio recordings made in either Noise Nuisance mode or Hand-held mode and provides a powerful set of tools to view, analyse and store information.

TECHNICAL SPEC:

• High resolution colour OLED screen with backlit keypad
• Repeating measurements for environmental noise monitoring120dB dynamic range in a single span
• 4GB memory with 32GB option
• Simultaneous measurement of all parameters
• 16bit/16kHz or 32bit/96kHz audio recording
• Option of real-time 1:1 & 1:3 octave band filters from 6.3Hz
