ANSELL expands INTERCEPT™ portfolio: New HyFlex® products offer exceptional cut protection for hands and arms

Made with enhanced comfort, durability and INTERCEPT TECHNOLOGY®

October 17, 2016

Ansell, a global leader in protection solutions, kicks off the 2016 National Safety Council Congress & Expo by introducing six new HyFlex cut protection products equipped with proprietary INTERCEPT TECHNOLOGY. These new products – which include an ultra-lightweight and medium duty glove along with a variety of sleeves – expand Ansell’s highly successful HyFlex product portfolio, delivering superior cut protection and enhanced comfort in all products.

The expanded product line features INTERCEPT TECHNOLOGY, a proprietary cut-resistant yarn technology that provides the ideal balance of comfort, protection and dexterity. It blends engineered and synthetic fibers into high-performance yarns for superior cut protection along with excellent fit and feel.

“The INTERCEPT TECHNOLOGY platform marked the industry’s first comprehensive product development platform for cut protection innovation.  We are excited to expand our product offering with new styles addressing ongoing needs for cut protection, comfort and worker safety within the changing industrial workplace,” said Steve Genzer, President and General Manager of the Ansell Industrial Global Business Unit. “Our initial product offering of eight HyFlex glove styles has been well received around the world.  We continue to innovate within our cut protection product portfolio, now bringing to market new sleeve and arm protection solutions in combination with an ultralight and a dirt-masking glove styles for this important and fast trending category.”

The expanded product portfolio includes the ultra-lightweight HyFlex 11-731 glove and medium duty, dirt-masking HyFlex 11-751 glove, in conjunction with a selection of INTERCEPT sleeves (HyFlex 11-210/211 and 11-250/251).

HyFlex 11-731 is an ultra-lightweight glove with enhanced comfort that lasts up to 2x longer for extended wear vs. comparable polyurethane gloves with high levels of cut protection. The glove meets EN388, ANSI Abrasion Level 4 and ANSI Cut Level 2 performance standards.

HyFlex 11-751 is a palm dipped medium duty glove that offers high levels of cut protection combined with superior abrasion resistance for extended wear. The glove meets EN388, ANSI Abrasion Level 6 and ANSI Cut Level 4 performance standards.

Along with new glove offerings, Ansell introduces HyFlex 11-210/11-211 and HyFlex 11-250/11-251 sleeves. Together with the use of INTERCEPT TECHNOLOGY and Seamless High Performance Polyethylene, the sleeves provide a soft and cool feel for best-in-class comfort. The HyFlex sleeves are made to perform in combination with any HyFlex cut resistant glove and are available with or without thumb slots in light grey or black colors, respectively. Different lengths and widths are also available for optimal fit and comfort.

The new HyFlex products are designed for jobs that require precision handling of small parts and for workers exposed to cut risks across a range of manufacturing applications. The products are pertinent for aerospace, automotive, electrical machinery, packaging, manufacturing, metal fabrication and general industry markets.
