OSHA is considering potential updates to its Hazard Communication Standard, in order to stay aligned with the most recent revision of the United Nations Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals.

To that end, the agency is requesting feedback from stakeholders on issues that they would like the agency to consider in the rulemaking.

OSHA will also solicit suggestions about the types of publications stakeholders might find helpful in complying with the standard and which topics on which they would like OSHA to prepare additional compliance materials in the future.

The first opportunity to provide input will be at a public meeting in Arlington, Virginia on Nov. 16, 2016, from 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Mine Safety and Health Administration Headquarters, 201 12th St. South, Suite 700, Arlington, Va. 22202.
