Speakman offers no-charge facility surveys for National Safety Month

June 5, 2018

Speakman Company, a Delaware-based showering, commercial plumbing and emergency equipment manufacturer, will offer complimentary facility evaluations in recognition of National Safety Month. The evaluations include surveys to determine if your facility is up to code and completely ANSI/ISEA Z358.1 and OSHA 1910.151(c) compliant. The survey, conducted by one of Speakman’s certified representatives, can be scheduled online throughout the month of June and is offered for no charge.

Once the facility survey is complete, the representative provides a document for the entire evaluation, which includes detailed photography of equipment needs and the areas of the facility included in the review. The facility evaluation also includes compliancy recommendations for product needs and existing safety equipment maintenance to become or remain compliant.

Paula Graney, Speakman’s safety sales manager-east, said, “For the first time in 25 years, OSHA penalties have increased by 80 percent. That means compliance is more important than ever, and our facility surveys ensure that you remain compliant. When your facility is compliant, it’s a safer and more efficient workplace for your employees.”

In addition to the in-person facility safety surveys, Speakman offers a compliance checklist to guide facility managers through weekly and annual equipment checks. The checklist includes checks on emergency equipment proximity, flow rate, water temperature, spray patterns and more to help ensure facility ANSI/ISEA Z358.1 compliance.

National Safety Month focuses on reducing the leading causes of injury and death at work, on the road, in homes and in communities. The month has a new focus each week and covers emergency preparedness, wellness, falls and driving. The theme for 2018 is No One Gets Hurt.

According to OSHA, a single eye injury can cost an employer over $300,000 per employee. Historically, lack of emergency eyewashes and safety showers land in the top 10 of OSHA violations. To learn more about the complimentary facility survey, watch this short video. To schedule your survey, call 1-844-SPEAKMAN or visit Speakman.com/EmergencyEquipment
