Faztek to host Manufacturing Day event on October 5, 2018 for Fort Wayne community
Program designed to expand knowledge of manufacturing, improve public perception of manufacturing career opportunities
In celebration of Manufacturing Day, Faztek, LLC will open its doors on October 5, 2018 to more than 100 students from Fort Wayne Community Schools, Purdue of Fort Wayne, and other local schools. MFG Day is a national event to change people’s perceptions about today’s manufacturing environment and draw attention to the outstanding opportunities that a career in manufacturing can provide. Planned activities include a tour of our each department by the company president, so that students can see the diverse and expanding career opportunities available at a manufacturer facility and how each department works together to provide safety products to our customers.
Manufacturing Day is an annual national event executed at the local level supported by thousands of manufacturers as they host students, teachers, parents, job seekers and other local community members at open houses, plant tours and presentations designed to showcase modern manufacturing technology and careers.
To mark the event, Indiana has declared October as Manufacturing Month.
“There is an increasing demand for highly skilled professionals in the manufacturing sector who can design, program and operate manufacturing tools of today,” said Aaron McDevitt, President. “The average age of a manufacturing employee is 56, and between now and 2020 there will be an unprecedented shortage of skilled workers who will need to be replaced.”
