Start-Up seeo Uses Video Intelligence to Manage Workplace Safety

After more than two decades shaping the global telematics industry, Dean Marris and Craig Marris, former founders of Coretex and leaders within EROAD, have launched a new venture, seeo.ai, alongside co-founder seedigital’s Bede Cammock-Elliott.

seeo is an AI-powered platform designed to transform how organizations across the United States manage workplace safety, compliance, and operational performance in real time.  In addition, seeo monitors and measures workflows in real time, improving efficiency, accuracy, and overall productivity.

Built to work with existing security camera infrastructure, seeo uses advanced video intelligence to identify unsafe acts, near misses, and deviations from standard operating procedures as they occur, enabling organizations to move from reactive reporting to proactive risk management.

Across the United States, organizations are operating in a highly litigious environment where workplace incidents carry significant legal, financial, and reputational consequences.

At the same time, tightening OSHA enforcement, rising insurance costs, and increasing pressure on 24/7 operations are forcing companies to rethink how they manage safety and risk. Many organizations continue to rely on incident reporting and lagging indicators, approaches that often fail to prevent harm and expose businesses to avoidable liability.

“Safety today is still built around hindsight,” said Dean Marris, Co-Founder of seeo.  “By the time something is reported, the risk has already materialized, and that can translate directly into legal exposure and operational disruption. seeo changes that by making risk visible in real time.”

The founders’ experience building Coretex, scaling telematics solutions globally and protecting the physical assets of commercial enterprises highlighted a key insight: visibility drives better decisions and safer outcomes.

seeo extends that principle beyond vehicles to the broader work environment, delivering continuous insight into how work is actually performed across warehouses, yards, manufacturing plants, and industrial sites.

“We’ve spent years helping organizations understand what their vehicles are doing,” said Craig Marris, Co-Founder of seeo.  “Now we’re helping them understand what’s happening across their operations in real time, where safety, productivity, and performance are all connected.”

A persistent challenge for US organizations is the gap between formal policies and real-world execution.

“A core issue isn’t a lack of policies, it’s a lack of visibility into how work is actually done,” Marris added.  “When you can see how work is performed in real-time, you can reduce risk and run better operations at the same time.”

seeo addresses this challenge by analyzing live operations against standard operating procedures, delivering real-time alerts, behavioral insights, and verifiable data to support both compliance and performance.

This enables organizations to:

•    Reduce incident-related costs and legal exposure

•    Support OSHA compliance with verifiable, time-stamped evidence

•    Maintain operational continuity in high-tempo environments

•    Improve workforce productivity and consistency

•    Identify inefficiencies and optimise workflows in real time

•    Designed for high-risk industries such as transport, logistics, manufacturing, and warehousing, seeo enables leaders to move beyond compliance and toward continuous, real-time assurance.

With no requirement for new hardware, the platform can be deployed rapidly using existing camera systems, making it accessible for both enterprise and mid-market organizations.

Early deployments are underway, with seeo engaging partners across North America as part of its global expansion strategy.

For the founders, the opportunity goes beyond safety; “This isn’t just about preventing incidents,” said Dean Marris.  “It’s about improving how work gets done. When you make work visible, you reduce risk, improve performance, and create better outcomes across the entire operation.”
