The National Safety Council announced Rhythm Innovations and the Rath Family Foundation as new sponsors of the Green Cross for Safety® Innovation award, launching a five-year commitment in support of the Council’s esteemed recognition for advancements in environmental, health and safety (EHS).

The Safety Innovation award honors researchers, corporations and organizations that have demonstrated outstanding success in addressing a persistent EHS challenge with an inventive and effective approach. Recipients of the award are commended for their exemplary efforts in making their and other workplaces safer.

“We are thrilled to announce this partnership with Rhythm Innovations and the Rath Family Foundation to champion meaningful safety innovations,” said Lorraine Martin, NSC CEO. “The Safety Innovation award recognizes pioneers making a lasting impact through groundbreaking advancements in safety best practices. This support enables NSC to continue recognizing the safety heroes making a difference and inspiring others to do the same.”

“We’re proud to support the National Safety Council in highlighting organizations that are not only improving outcomes today, but redefining what’s possible for the future of safety,” said Dave Rath, co-CEO of Rhythm Innovations and founder of the Rath Family Foundation. “By celebrating safety leadership, we hope to inspire broader adoption of forward-thinking approaches that protect workers, strengthen organizations and ultimately save lives.”

The winner of the Safety Innovation award is announced each year at the Green Cross Celebration during the NSC Safety Congress & Expo, the world’s largest annual safety event. The 2026 NSC Safety Congress & Expo will take place in Indianapolis Sept. 14-16.
