Home » ANSI standard protects public from construction hazards
The only construction standard aimed at protecting the public during building projects was recently released by the American Society of Safety Engineers.
ANSI A10.34-2001 sets voluntary guidelines for employers, contractors, building owners and rescue personnel to protect the public from construction hazards. Such hazards include welding, blasting, concrete pouring, falling objects, cranes, hazardous materials and trenching.
The standard outlines a public hazard control plan and provides a plan checklist. Visit www.asse.org for more info.
