The American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) phones are working once again. They were restored shortly after 3 p.m. EST. Like many businesses and homes in the Washington, D.C. area, the AIHA was affected by a power outage in the wake of strong storms.

Earlier in the day the AIHA had the following message on the home page of its website:

"AIHA telephone system is currently out of service due to loss in power to the building. This was an unplanned event, and affected multiple buildings in the area. Dominion Virginia Power was notified and is diligently working on the incident at this point. Our building engineers are working as quickly as possible to ensure everything is back online and running properly. Please be patient as the response time to some service requests may be a little longer than normal. We thank you for your patience."
