Southern Glove introduces a new line of flame-retardant gloves

September 28, 2012

Blowout Shield glovesIndustrial glove manufacturer Southern Glove has announced that it is adding a new line of flame-retardant gloves to its comprehensive line of top-quality industrial work gloves, arm protection products, industrial aprons and cut-resistant products.

“Since 1945, Southern Glove has manufactured the top-quality products our industrial customers need to protect both their employees and their businesses,” said Brent Fidler, President and CEO, Southern Glove. “Our new line of Blowout Shield flame-retardant gloves is just the latest example of how Southern Glove uses smart design to create protection for a wide variety of job applications and work environments.”

Southern Glove’s flame-retardant Blowout Shield gloves are available in two patterns. The IWFO269 and IWFG269 models are 22 ounces total weight with a wing thumb and twill palm pattern that offers comfortable freedom of movement with no seams in the wear area; the IFCCFO209 and IFCCFG209 models have an 18-ounce total weight and feature a straight thumb and a cotton-corded palm. Both versions are available in high visibility fluorescent green and orange colors.

Constructed from a rugged, fire-resistant outer material, Southern Glove’s Blowout Shield flame-retardant gloves offer excellent abrasion resistance and are specially designed for flame resistance in case of a flash fire.  They are independently certified for fire resistance and complete the protection offered by flame-retardant clothing. Each pair also features Southern Glove’s Blowout Shield logo, is tagged with a flame-retardant label, and can be customized with the customer’s logo on the back of the left glove.

Southern Glove also offers medium and heavy weight, flame-retardant hot mills suited for heavy industrial use such as steel, aluminum and glass.  These olive drab gloves have a 100% cotton outer layer with one or two cotton liners.  These styles are available with a band top or gauntlet cuff.

Southern Glove has manufactured top-quality industrial work gloves, arm protection products, industrial aprons and cut-resistant products for industrial customers throughout the United States since 1945.  The company also provides contract cutting and sewing services of top-quality private label industrial apparel, safety accessories and other fabric products made to their customers’ exacting specifications.

Southern Glove’s products are available exclusively through a national network of authorized glove distributors throughout the United States. The company also carries an extensive inventory of products located at its Newton, NC warehouse.

Headquartered in Newton, NC, Southern Glove is American-owned by the same family who founded the company and has operated manufacturing continuously in Honduras since 1997.
