3M has announced its plan to award $5,000 scholarships to four students pursuing an education in occupational health and safety, along with trips to the 2014 American Industrial Hygiene conference & exposition (AIHce) in San Antonio, Texas.

3M's scholarship program, now in its 28th year, is an annual commitment to supporting outstanding students pursuing an education in occupational health and safety in the United States. This program recognizes graduate students for their high level of academic achievement, contribution to the profession, and intent to pursue industrial careers in the discipline of occupational health and safety.

3M has awarded scholarships to more than 100 students in occupational health and safety in the past 28 years. "Supporting our future occupational health and safety professionals is a high priority for 3M's Personal Safety Division. It's really inspiring to know that we have so many motivated and talented students working hard toward their careers," said Vars McCullough.

Scholarship awardees will be chosen in accordance with program rules on the basis of academic achievement, related work experience and professional goals. They are chosen by a selection committee comprised of 3M personal safety management and industrial hygienists.
