DuPont Protection Technologies today announced the launch of two new products, DuPont™ Tyvek® Plus and Tyvek® Xpert CE certified garments, designed to help keep workers safe and clean on the job.

Both Tyvek® Plus and Tyvek® Xpert garments are composed of flash spun high-density polyethylene, a nonwoven material available only from DuPont. Tyvek® Plus garments offer a variety of benefits including high resistance to abrasion and tearing. The serged and over-taped seams of Tyvek® Plus garments provide an effective barrier against many water-based inorganic chemicals in low concentration and particles down to 1.0 micron in size. Tyvek® Xpert garments have been tested to standards against light liquid aerosols and airborne solid particles, and provide an effective barrier against small size particles down to 1.0 micron in size. Tyvek® Xpert garments offer very low inward leakage due to optimized design features, with serged external seams. In addition, Tyvek® Xpert garments have a Tyvek® auto-lock zipper and storm flap for increased protection. Both products are CE certified for Category III garments.

Tyvek® Plus garments are suitable in a wide variety of applications including nuclear, maintenance, pharmaceutical manufacturing, medical applications, and research and biosecurity laboratories. Tyvek® Xpert garments can be used in applications such as pharmaceutical handling, chemical processing, and automatic spray painting and maintenance applications.
